Aceleron Energy Awarded DESNZ Green Home Finance Accelerator Funding, Revolutionising Energy Storage with ESaaS

Aceleron Energy, a pioneering provider of sustainable energy solutions, is proud to announce its success in securing funding under the Green Home Finance Accelerator programme as part of the UK Government’s Net Zero Innovation Portfolio. This groundbreaking initiative aims to trial lithium-ion batteries and explore the feasibility of Energy Storage as a Service (ESaaS) in the United Kingdom. By retaining ownership of the batteries and introducing a subscription model, Aceleron is set to accelerate the adoption and increase the accessibility of renewable energy and sustainable battery storage systems for consumers.

The core innovation of the project lies in Aceleron's development of a fully maintainable home energy storage product. This breakthrough technology provides the systems with a far greater lifespan and enables the battery to become an asset rather than a consumable item, enabling the implementation of servicing models, making ESaaS a viable option. The proposed ESaaS offering will eliminate the substantial upfront investment typically associated with lithium-ion batteries, removing a significant barrier for consumers and facilitating greater adoption of affordable renewable energy.

Under the Green Home Finance Accelerator, Aceleron aims to provide users with the necessary equipment, installation services, and a comprehensive system monitoring platform. Additionally, a maintenance agreement will ensure the seamless operation of the energy storage system. In return, Aceleron will receive regular monthly payments.

Key activities within the project include soliciting feedback from potential customers to refine the proposed products, defining a comprehensive marketing plan, developing the ESaaS financial model, structuring legal agreements, and securing partnerships for large-scale deployment and expansion. Aceleron will also establish an initial pilot project plan to install the first ESaaS products, paving the way for a transformative shift in energy storage practices.

"We are thrilled to have been selected among the winners of the Green Home Finance Accelerator," said Dr Amrit Chandan, CEO and co-founder at Aceleron Energy. "This recognition validates our commitment to driving innovation in the renewable energy sector and our belief in the transformative potential of ESaaS. With this project, we aim to unlock new opportunities for consumers to access affordable renewable energy while accelerating the adoption of battery storage in homes across the UK."

By harnessing their uniquely serviceable and upgradeable lithium-ion battery storage products, Aceleron is set to lead the way in redefining the energy storage landscape. The Green Home Finance Accelerator's six-month discovery project will evaluate the viability of ESaaS in the UK and solidify Aceleron's position as a trailblazer in sustainable energy solutions.
